The Global Warming Money Trail
The climate industry is costing taxpayers $79 billion and counting…
Regardless of the validity Global Warming, Climate Change, or whatever other names it goes by, a great deal of money is spent on it. Exactly what it spent on remains to be made clear - by anyone! Exactly what the return on the money spent on it is even murkier. One has to wonder to date, whether there has been any quantifiable improvement or favorable change that can be tied directly to any single or group of investments or studies. One has to wonder because by design, there are no such reports. There never will be.
The latest urgings by the US administration is dependent on the full participation of India and China in order to make any difference at all! Do some very simple math: The United States has 300 million people roughly, while China and India combined near 3 billion! Where do you think the majority of the pollution comes from? They are dead-set against any participation. So where does that leave Americans? Our Congress is bent on what will become a unilateral effort to curb carbon emissions through self-imposed taxes. This in effect will kill what little competitive edge we have left with low-cost fuels Vs. their slave labor. No wonder they want no part of it.
And yet in the United States we have unquestioning throngs who, as long as you tell them you’re saving the planet and don’t mention that you are picking their pockets, willingly open up said pockets and even wriggle around for you so you can get that hard-to-reach change at the bottom. No questions asked. No one questions just how the money will be spent or what the outcome will be. As long as you promise anything and any time, even if it beyond their life-expectancy, they will blithely look the other way for you to take as much as you want - as long as you don’t tell them how much you are going to take! Of course, we’re talking about politicians here. You know those fine folk who are known for their outstanding moral fiber and monumental character.
If anyone does ask, the crowd gets ugly quick. Your intelligence is questioned. You’re charged with religious persecution at the mere suggestion of scientific bias - if such a thing were possible. Science is science, reporting on science is altogether something different!
Politicians. Money. Science. If you are going to vote for people to spend your money, wouldn’t you at least want to make sure it was going to be spent the right way? Don’t the indicators of the amount of scientific research being funded by those who will profit from it make you just a tad suspicious of the results?
As for me, I refuse to go along with the con. I will do what I can do personally and do so willingly to be environmentally responsible. But the moment someone legislates for me what I need to do without any verifiable outcome or accountability, I distrust it.
Sunstein: Genesis of the Thought Police

Cass Sunstein, a Harvard Law professor who has been appointed to a shadowy post that will grant him powers that are merely mind-boggling, explicitly supports using the courts to impose a “chilling effect” on speech that might hurt someone’s feelings. He thinks that the bloggers have been rampaging out of control and that new laws need to be written to corral them.
Advance copies of Sunstein’s new book, “On Rumors: How Falsehoods Spread, Why We Believe Them, What Can Be Done,” have gone out to reviewers ahead of its September publication date, but considering the prominence with which Sunstein is about to be endowed, his worrying views are fair game now. Sunstein is President Obama’s choice to head the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. It’s the bland titles that should scare you the most.
In “On Rumors,” Sunstein reviews how views get cemented in one camp even when people are presented with persuasive evidence to the contrary. He worries that we are headed for a future in which “people’s beliefs are a product of social networks working as echo chambers in which false rumors spread like wildfire.” That future, though, is already here, according to Sunstein. “We hardly need to imagine a world, however, in which people and institutions are being harmed by the rapid spread of damaging falsehoods via the Internet,” he writes. “We live in that world. What might be done to reduce the harm?”
REF: Cass Sunstein’s despicable ideas on regulating the internet
I suspect this may be only the beginning of the New Thought Police. Be prepared to witness in your lifetime an assault on all freedom such as we have never seen before. Consider yourselves warned. The only question now is - what are you going to do about it?
Why We Got Into This Mess
The Cloward-Piven Strategy Explained
First proposed in 1966 and named after Columbia University sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven, the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.

HOW WE GOT INTO THIS MESS
This was a post I found today here: Comments on Motley Fool, which was so well written and thoughtful I figured I should share it.
I have taken the liberty of inserting my comments below.
The quible I have is with the title. I would rename this “HOW THE SOCIALISTS IN CONGRESS DESTROYED THE WORLD”, but other than that we can leave it as is. It speaks for itself:
The Ultimate Socialist Scheme
Never has Stealing from the Rich to Buy the Votes of the Poor been so Vast, so Grand, and so All Encompassing as this!
News Flash: New climate strategy: track the world’s wealthiest
Just imagine the endless redistribution of wealth from the productive rich to the unproductive poor! Why there will be no where in the world to go to find wealth anywhere - we will all live together in miserable squallor - equally enslaved to the New Socialist Overlords. A vast Left Wing Bureaucracy that will tell you exactly how much you can eat, sleep, and move around… and woe to you if you step outside the bounds - you’ll be TAXED MORE! Or punished. This is a dream that only a cockaroach could love. And yet - here we are with BamBam and Pelosi leading the charge down the hill into the swamp, and burning all our bridges behind us. GOOD JOB BAM BAM!!! That’s the way to wreck the world for everyone! You’re so cool!!!

Gotta love that guy. He’s so cool. Even if he does destroy the world for 1000 years. Who cares? He’s so cool that’s all that matters. And if you don’t believe it - we have a nice padded cell waiting for you. So just button up your mouth, nod “yes we can” a lot, and go forward into the grim, gray future with Bam Bam. Because HE WON!
Or… fight back, you fools. Fight!

For the several years that I have been aware of politics and have been gathering and forming my own opinions, I have often asked what can I, as an average citizen, do to affect change in the course of politics? Of course I have my vote, and I write on this little blog, but what I have realized is that learning and teaching both history and contemporary activities is the key. To encourage others to become educated about the ‘People’ whom ‘We‘ are and are among will propel as far forward as we have trailing behind us. For each and every American who better understands who we are because of who we have beenm we will better understand how we fit in, both in our country and the world. We do not need politicians to tell us that. The more people are encouraged to discuss these things will dictate whether we are to govern ourselves or to be governed by only a few. As an American, this is the best I can do.
Mr Powell; Better Late Than Never
Fresh in from the Washington Times: Powell airs doubts on Obama Agenda
My comment on the site, having read a lot of vitriol against him for having endorsed Obama and enabled the Plame case fiasco…
I’m giving Mr. Powell the benefit of the doubt. He’s been an admirable man of honorable intent for a long time and for me that counts for something. Sure, I think he made a mistake endorsing Obama, but at least now he’s beginning to see what the rest of us see and coming out and saying something. That’s a good thing, and I’m not going to impugn him. Mr. Powell, thanks for speaking up on this matter. It is urgent for our nation’s future that you continue to address it vigorously. Please continue!
Anyway, better late than never, I say. We should be encouraging him to continue, not attacking him for past failures, I think. We need all the support we can get on this, and he’s very credible with the Obama-Juice drinker set. At least temporarily until they perceive that he’s turned on The One and then, I suspect, he’ll see what a Real Feeding Frenzy looks like.

Ayn Rand Speaks…
Scene from The Fountainhead
Ayn Rand Mike Wallace Interview
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Interestingly, you can vicerally feel Mike Wallace’s earnest distrust and animosity to Ayn Rand’s ideas. He seems to hate her and all she stands for because her philosophy, to his mind, is selfish, hard, and unforgiving. Yet every time she explains what she means, one can also see that she’s quite right - if you think it through. Mike was both unable and unwilling to do so.
The Cries for Freedom, and for Death in Iran
Hot Air » Blog Archive » Neda identified? Update: New details
I would imagine it is difficult for anyone who actually values freedom to not see the news and videos of what is going on in Iran currently and not identify with the people. The people have used this election as a catalyst to act against the oppression of the theocratic government.
The videos at the link at the top of this post are extremely graphic and caution is recommended. However, this is the reality we live with. Unless courage and the will to live free prevail, this is the threat to us all.
As for the video of the woman, it is the cries of her father, the desperation that is so chilling.
Little do they know, but the Mullahs just shot their own “shot heard around the world” - They don’t need to worry about any other “meddling” governments, for as with all tyrants their fates are sealed by the fruit of their own tyranny. To the Iranian people: Be stong and courageous! The hearts of free peoples all around the world are with you!
The End of Anonymous Blogging
Anonymous Blogging was ended on June 17, 2009 by Mr Justice Eady …
Please read: Ruling on NightJack author Richard Horton kills blogger anonymity
In a landmark decision, Mr Justice Eady refused to grant an order to protect the anonymity of a police officer who is the author of the NightJack blog. The officer, Richard Horton, 45, a detective constable with Lancashire Constabulary, had sought an injunction to stop The Times from revealing his name.
The bottom line is
In the first case dealing with the privacy of Internet bloggers, the judge ruled that Mr Horton had no “reasonable expectation” to anonymity because “blogging is essentially a public rather than a private activity”.
Therefore, because this is now the new precedent, we have been shown that blogging affords no “reasonable expectation” of anonymity, meaning: Watch what you say online! You may be prosecuted for it. Believe it.
What I’m imagining may never come to pass… but I’m afraid I can no longer rule out the possibility. Is this the first wave of BamBam’s massive Blitzkrieg on our civil liberties? Maybe they call it the World Wide Web for a reason… first lull us into thinking we have anonymity so we’ll feel safe in revealing our actual thoughts to the world - and then when the records are sufficiently full of incriminating evidence - announce that there is no “reasonable expectation” of anonymity after all… and now all the flies are trapped… and the World Wide Web has serviced Big Brother after all. What a setup.

Our Judeo-Christian Nation
If indeed, our founding was upon Judeo-Christian principles, it was not, then, simply the convictions of the small number of men we now refer to as our Founding Fathers, but every man and woman of faith of the preceding generations leading up to it who lived, taught, and modeled their own convictions leaving an indelible mark upon the Founding Fathers’ hearts and minds such that they were compelled to take no other course. Only in the same way could we ever expect such God-inspired greatness to prevail. It is by your example. It is by my words backed by my life. It is a force the body politic cannot withstand, and that is precisely why they move to dilute the cause wherever possible. But to the individual, it is either victory or defeat, and never dilution. And so, as it has been from the beginning, the country is fought for, and won, or lost, by the faithful or faithless individual.
Health Care: $600 Billion in Tax Increases

Health Tax
Asked whether the cost of a health-care overhaul would be more than $1 trillion, Rangel said, “the answer is yes.”
Nuff said.
Will the Big Gamble Pay?

Interesting! Citigroup Bailout Pays Taxpayers Three Times as Much as S&P 500
The situation is that BamBam bet the entire farm on the idea that the economy will recover, and that the investments made in various banks and corporations will in fact turn a profit for the government (and therefore, we assume, the tax payer). If it works out then the the $12 trillion in commitments over the next 12 years will pay off and America will profit from the “investment” in Bailouts.
On the other hand, if the economy stalls and we go into a 1970s stagflation environment then we’re going to be bankrupt. It’s a gamble. If it works, BamBam will be a “genius”, and perhaps rightly so. If it doesn’t, then he ruined the country.
Fiscally responsible people, we should note, when they run into debt, don’t usually go to Vegas and bet everything they have at the craps table in order to make enough money to pay for the luxury stuff they bought while going into debt. Usually.
Democracy In Peril
Oh my. A new Study indicates the obvious. Wow…
Democracy seen threatened by new authoritarianism
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - China, Iran, Russia and Venezuela form a clique of authoritarian states that use their wealth and influence to undermine global democracy and rule of law, a study by U.S.-funded agencies said on Thursday.
The report, released on the 20th anniversary of China’s suppression of the Tiananmen democracy movement, says these states’ challenge to Western democratic institutions represents a far “murkier picture” than the Cold War because they are integrated into the global economy and world bodies.
“Policymakers do not appear to appreciate the dangers these 21st century authoritarian models pose to democracy and rule of law around the world,” said the study by Freedom House, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, and Radio Free Asia, all prominent U.S. democracy-promotion bodies.
“Just as they rule without law within their borders, authoritarian regimes are eroding the international rules and standards built up by the democratic world over the past several decades, threatening to export the instability and abuses that their systems engender,” it said.
The study said manufacturing and trading power China and petro-states Iran, Russia and Venezuela shared strong similarities despite their distinct political systems and backgrounds.
Authoritarian capitalist China and Russia have built systems that twin “impressive economic development with an equally impressive apparatus of political control,” it said.
Hey wait one goshdarn second here! What about Obama!? Why didn’t they include him on The List? It don’t make no sense! I mean after all - he’s implementing the exact same style of state control as Chavez. Actually, for those not in on the secret, State control of Corporations is one of the main pillars of of Fascism.
Fascism is … a form of government control over business and labor (called “the corporate state” by Mussolini). - Wikipedia: Fascism
Gosh golly, why does that sound so darn familiar lately… I just can’t quite put my finger on it … gee…
Why, Yes, Indeed, We Most Certainly Can!
But no matter. As long as BamBam does it then it’s A-OK with us. Gosh he’s so COOL! How can anyone DARE to impugn his majestic dignity by suggesting that he’s a closet Fascist/Socialist Super-Pig disguised as a Radical Preachy-Whiny-Hate-Yourself-And-Your-Country-American?! I mean that’s just plain Blasphemy right there! People who think that should be put in Guantanamo and left to rot there! Gosh Darn those people are just so totally WRONG about Obama, the Wonderful One! Darn them. Those B*stards!! This is all George Bush’s fault! I mean really, just because BamBam bowed for a SECOND TIME to the King of the Arabs, that don’t mean nuthin, you stupid RepuNazican (yes, I actually saw a Liberal blog poster use that) B*stards!!! Bow To teh King for teh Bling-Bling!
eh… is it too late to mention that the Liberals should wake up to the danger they’ve imposed on the Free World? Oh wait… I forgot, this is what they wanted. Oh Darn. Freedom was obviously over rated. Fo shizzle ma bruthuh. Foooo Shizzle!
Next up… BamBam declares War on Conservativism… “the true evil of our time”.
Wait for it … Wait for it …
Crazy Compensation and the Crisis
This is an excellent analysis of the roots of the World Wide Economic Meltdown: Crazy Compensation and the Crisis

From the point of view of the companies’ shareholders — the people who provide the OPM (Other People’s Money) — this is madness. To them, the gamble looks like: Heads, we get a share of the winnings; tails, we absorb almost all of the losses. The conclusion is clear: Traders and managers both want to flip more coins — and at higher stakes — than shareholders would if they had any control, which they don’t.
The source of the problem is really quite simple: Give smart people go-for-broke incentives and they will go for broke. Duh.
I have been saying exactly this for only 20 years. But whatever. The problem of course is that the POS AH already got away with it, and it is just far to late to close the barn door. Our money is in their hands and they are not going to give it back. End of story.
As for Blame I’d put it in this order:
1) The Compensation Committees of the Boards of Directors for ALL of the Corporations. They were not asleep at the wheel, as has been alleged, as if they were just semi-innocent bystanders. Oh no, I don’t buy that explanation one bit. Nope. What they are is criminally negligent because they had a fiduciary responsibility to the Shareholders to attend in no uncertain terms to the Shareholders interests. That is, after all, their job. Thus, they are responsible, and should, in my opinion, now pay the price for their complicity and negligence.
2) The CEOs who didn’t look at this situation and say “Damnit this is completely irresponsible and once it reaches critical mass is going to, without any doubt whatsoever, implode the world economy.”, and then have the guts and the balls to do something really astonishing to stop it: Say “No”. OMG. How incredibly impossible would that have been?
3) The 28 Year Old Traders. These guys went on a wild crazy super-omega binge with Other People’s Money and didn’t stop to say, “Hey wait a second… something is wrong with this picture… this just *can’t* be right.” and do the right thing and stop it. What do you do when things don’t look quite right, if you have one tiny shred of character in your soul? You leave. That’s what. Yup. That’s right. You leave. Fail.
4) The Shareholders. Excuse me, but when did you people get so freaking stupid? Shouldn’t common sense tell you that if someone is making 400x what you are for taking your money and doing hocus pokus on it to “make you rich” that there’s something frrrrreeeeeaaaaaakkkkkiiiiiiinnnnnnggggggg WRONG? So, investors, you all deserve a huge slap in the face for being stupid as hell. Oh, you’re getting the slap now… except this is not a slap. What your getting instead is a Artillery Shell through the face, economically speaking. You lost your economy. Now you’re on the way to losing your country. Good job.
Here’s the only Solution I can offer you:
Step 1: Well, it’s high time people step up to the plate and start taking responsibility for their crappy decisions, negligence and stupidity. And stop it. Just stop it and don’t do it again. Why not try living a decent, normal life. See those returns advertised at 3992% in one year? Don’t buy it. Go for that reasonable 5% yearly growth like a grown up. Suck it up and stop being suckers. That’s step one.
Step 2: Insist that people around you do the same. Stop oogling and aaaahhhing over the improbable bullcrap that the “Winners” try to lord over you. Look at them with a square jaw and steady eye and say “Cheaters always loose in the end. So will you.” and walk away. Stop inviting them to your party. They’re losers who expect you to be a sucker for them. Cut that out.
Step 3: Rebuild. Yeah, so you lost it all in the bloodbath. That happens. Take responsibility for your own complicity. Look around and see the damage. And then look around again and see the opportunity. What can you do? Help out. Rebuild. Take yourself to your neighbor and say “Hey can I help you out?” Do some good in the world for a change. Rebuild your society and your culture. Be a better person.
Ok. That’s all I have to say on that. As they say in Britain… Good luck with it all.

Iranian sources: Obama to free four Iranian “diplomats” as swap for US journalist
DEBKAfile Exclusive ReportMay 13, 2009, 10:08 AM (GMT+02:00)
Roxana Saberi’s release part of US-Iran swap?
According to DEBKAfile’s Iranian sources, US journalist Roxana Saberi was released Tuesday, May 12, as part of an exchange deal under which Washington agreed to free four senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards intelligence officers captured in Irbil, northern Iraq in January 2007. Defined as “diplomats” by Tehran, they ran terror operations and covert arms supplies from Iran then to al Qaeda and Sunni insurgent networks. Those sources reveal that the Obama administration will also release to Tehran information on the fate of the Iranian diplomat who disappeared in Pakistan four months ago. US and Pakistani officials claimed at the time that he was kidnapped by the Taliban, tortured and executed, while Tehran insisted he was captured - and is still held - by US special forces because of his ties with al Qaeda.
The four Iranian agents captured in Irbil have not yet been freed, but senior Iranian and Iraqi sources say it will happen soon. The date depends on Tehran satisfying Washington’s demand for information on the former FBI agent Robert Levinson, who has never been heard of from the time he disappeared on the Iranian island of Kish in March 2007.
On April 23 this year, Mohammad Hossein Aghasi, the Iranian lawyer the Levinson family hired to trace him said he believes the missing American is alive and held at a secret location in Iran.
Our intelligence sources stress that the Obama administration’s willingness for this kind of swap goes partway toward admitting to Tehran’s charge that Roxana Saberi performed services in Iran for the United States.
After the Tehran court commuted the eight-year sentence against her for spying to two years suspended, her lawyer revealed that part of the Iranian case against her was that she had a copy of a confidential Iranian report on the US war in Iraq which, he said, she had copied “out of curiosity.”

Buzz ‘em & Bully ‘em.
In regards to the recent Air Force 1 NYC Buzz-Fest… this seemingly unrelated article:
White House puts UAW ahead of property rights - Washington Examiner
Last Friday, the day after Chrysler filed for bankruptcy, I drove past the company’s headquarters on Interstate 75 in Auburn Hills, Mich.
As I glanced at the pentagram logo I felt myself tearing up a little bit. Anyone who grew up in the Detroit area, as I did, can’t help but be sad to see a once great company fail.
But my sadness turned to anger later when I heard what bankruptcy lawyer Tom Lauria said on a WJR talk show that morning. “One of my clients,” Lauria told host Frank Beckmann, “was directly threatened by the White House and in essence compelled to withdraw its opposition to the deal under threat that the full force of the White House press corps would destroy its reputation if it continued to fight.”
.jpg)
I submit to you that my suspicion that the NYC Buzz-Fest intended to send those bad greedy Wall Street Executives a big fat ‘Message’ they can not ignore, is not nearly as half-cocked as it may sound. It certainly would give a logical explanation for what happened, albeit one that should send shivers up and down everyone’s spines… of course, because the media is completely in the tank for ‘La Pharaoh Perfectus Maximus’ we never heard another peep about this story, except that BamBam refuses to relinquish the photos. No investigation. No follow up. Just terrified New Yorkers running down Wall Street. My guess on why the photos will not be released: The Incredible One insists on mitigating the public effect of that “mistake” (no no no, we can’t remind people what happened - it must fade now into the distant past as quickly as possible), while allowing the Private effect to sink in fully. So Who has the Guns, the Bombs, the Planes and the *real Power* again? Oh yeah. BamBam. After all he Won. This *is*, btw, exactly how Socialist governments have always functioned in the past and it’s hard to see why they wouldn’t function exactly the same way now, and more-so in the future. One day we may well wake up and realise that people made a huge mistake in November, but by then, of course, it will be far far far too late.

Socialism vs. Freedom
Regarding this story: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Story?id=5452807&page=2
What Bush did in office was in certain aspects against the conservative stance. However, everything he did in office, in regards to the diminishment of American Freedom, and consequently World Freedom, absolutely pales by comparison to what BamBam and Timmy have done in 100 days. Socialism is the destruction of freedom. Get it through your thick skulls. If you do not have the freedom to buy and sell in an open market, then you have no freedom. You can be starved and maltreated in ten thousand ways by bureaucrats who expect you to kiss up to them in order to ‘get the permit’, ‘avoid the fee’, ‘work the system’, etc, etc, etc. This is exactly what happened in other socialist countries. The Lefites trick people with the “We’re for fairness and equality” message, and then as soon as they get in power it becomes all about witch hunts, regulations, and taxes. We’re watching this process play out now. And not in slow motion either. It’s bad. If you want freedom, then you better make sure that Socialism does not take root. Chavez and his friends like to say “Those who seek heaven on earth are Socialists”. Um… heaven does not belong on earth because, specifically, of human nature, which is why we have Laws. Those who claim to be bringing heaven to earth are, typically speaking, unspeakable lairs. You should just try to keep that in mind.
